Tuesday Techniques: Cheese Soufflé | Main | What's In My Fridge?

nibbles 5.21.08

* My readers are dreaming about me.
* David Lebovitz has a nice recipe for red wine poached rhubarb.
* Michael Ruhlman wants you to make mayo.
* Mark Bittman teaches you to "grill" indoors, using your broiler.
* Tonight's the big American Idol finale. Craig and I were just chatting about what kind of dishes could be made in honor of the finalists. We decided that David Archuleta was a grilled cheese and that David Cook was a mildly spicy beef chili. What do you think?

Grilled Cheese for David A.... perfect!

David Cook is more like a pasty... kind of buttery and doughy on the outside, but you're not really sure what's inside.

Fruit cup,stir-fry tofu, and strawberry shortcake and Evian for David A. Iceberg lettuce with bleu cheese dressing,rib-eye steak with mashed potatoes and apple pie and a Budweiser for David C.

"I couldn't get any laundry done because all the machines were full of The Amateur Gourmet's wet clothing and linens."

heheheeee.... classic.

David Archuletta is generic store-brand vanilla ice cream. David Cook is Ben and Jerry's "Everything but the..."

Archuletta is a PB&J. Cook is a muffuletta.

Archuletta is a mug of instant Folger's. Cook is a well-pulled shot of espresso.
